Inspect, document, rectify, verify

A clear inspection process from first conversation to follow-up

Every BuildInspect visit follows four practical steps: define the scope, inspect and document, review the report, and verify completed work against the original evidence.

From a clear question to verified closure

  1. 01

    Define scope

Before the visit, agree the property, areas, checks, utilities and instruments. A pre-possession inspection, leakage investigation and ongoing-construction audit each follow a method designed for that purpose.

You confirm water, power, keys and builder or society permission. BuildInspect confirms the inspection route and evidence plan.

  2. 02

    Inspect and record

Walk the agreed route and record observations with location-linked photographs and readings. The report clearly separates completed checks from areas needing access or further investigation.

Pre-possession flat and leakage inspections include thermal imaging alongside visible photographs. We map moisture-related temperature patterns, compare relevant areas and retain the original captures as inspection evidence.

  3. 03

    Report and discuss

Receive a report that separates what was observed, what it might mean and what should happen next. Raise each item with the responsible party—builder, contractor or society—with clear supporting evidence.

The report combines a clear coverage summary with a practical action list and identifies when another test or specialist is the right next step.

  4. 04

    Rectify and verify

Track each response against the original observation. Use completion evidence or a separate reinspection where independent closure matters. The original record is never overwritten—both the before and after stay visible.

Repairs, if you choose them, are optional, separately scoped and quoted, and delivered by disclosed third-party providers. The inspection and report remain independent of any repair relationship.

A report built for practical decisions

Each service delivers a clear report with:

  • Observations linked to locations
  • Photographs and readings with context
  • A clear record of completed checks and open items
  • Interpretation and next action clearly separated
  • Practical follow-up for every item that needs attention

A quote follows the property and the agreed work

The homepage shows starting prices for three flat-inspection packages. Other properties and specialist services are quoted after the work is confirmed. A ready, empty apartment and a furnished multi-level home with a leakage concern are different visits. The quote depends on:

01

Property type and size

Flat, villa, society or commercial property. Configuration, levels, terraces and separately accessed areas.

02

Readiness and access

Water, power, keys, builder or society permission, and the available inspection window.

03

Scope and instruments

Visual checks, functional testing, moisture readings, included thermal imaging, monitoring or reinspection.

04

Reporting and follow-up

Report depth, review meetings, separate reinspection visits and location-based travel.

Clear findings, with the right next step

The report separates observed conditions, open items and questions requiring specialist input.

  • Visible structural, electrical, plumbing or statutory concerns are directed to the appropriately qualified specialist when formal assessment is needed.
  • Concealed waterproofing, embedded wiring, pipework and foundations require targeted or specialist methods.
  • Intermittent or weather-dependent leakage may require monitoring or a follow-up visit in suitable conditions.
  • Instrument readings are interpreted alongside visible evidence, comparison areas and site context.
  • Repair referrals remain optional and separately scoped, and never influence the recorded findings.
  • The report records conditions at the time of the visit and provides a clear basis for discussion and follow-up.
